Fun fact: Alright so this movie does not have the same emotional beats as the first trilogy has and I felt like the past villains weren’t properly respected, it does not make this movie feel like a kung-fu panda 4 movie. However, I did laugh a lot and awkwafina isn’t actually cringy when she does the over exaggerated thing she does in movies and she is very down to earth. Fun fact: I remember watching this when it first came out and enjoying myself and being impressed with the production value. Having just finished playing FF7 Remake made me want to watch this again, and it is even better than I remembered it. Amazing fight scenes, the characters are true to the game, and the animation is great (still holds up 15 years later)! And, having just finished playing the latest video game, the plot pretty much makes sense, which says a lot for a JRPG. Fun fact: The animation is colorful, the action starts relatively early and is well-spaced out. The jokes were appropriate. My kids are aged 10 and 14, and they both enjoyed it. There were kids of all ages in the theatre and I could hear laughs all the time. Perfect for the holidays and also has a great soundtrack. The storyline is obvious in the title, but the journey was full of surprises enough to keep you on the edge. There were useful lessons to be learned and a moral to the story.
